The Secret to Recovering from the Holidays

It’s mid-November and I am sitting at my son’s practice wondering what to write about for the first blog in January of 2014.  The blog you are currently reading!  I am highly aware that the first week in January is a time of rest, recuperation, and rejuvenation and what more can I add to make this a better time for you?  Here in November, I’m thinking, “honestly on Jan 7th I am getting back into the full swing of school, work, lecturing, traveling and truly I won’t be in the mood to read someone else’s blog on how to make anything better.”  I figured you will need some more Rest, Recuperation, Rejuvenation…The Secrets to Recovering from a busy October, November, and December.

So here are my very brief words of advice for this week, I hope you continue to Recover:

Rest, Recuperate, Rejuventate
Rest, Recuperate, Rejuvenate
  •  Be gentle with yourself.  Set the tone for the rest of the year on how you are treating yourself today. (see blog)
  • Take time to rest.  Remember,  the winter it is time for us to slow down (see blog)
  •  Recuperate.  Take time to put away the Holidays and process all that you did throughout the past 3 months.
  •  Rejuvenate.   Refrain from tackling everything on your list and take care of you.

The more you rest and rejuvenate the better you will feel and actually, the more you will accomplish.

This post will not win the world’s best written blog nor a blog with the most sage advice award but it comes from the heart.  Be kind to yourself and others this week.
